What the evidence says about NAD+ nasal spray

No FDA-approved drug contains NAD+. Clinics sell compounded NAD+, and FDA lists NAD in Category 1 of its 503A bulk-substance lists, which covers substances compounders may use while FDA evaluates them [6].

Human research on raising NAD+ levels is early. A 2020 review counted 36 clinical trials, found only two adequately powered, and called the evidence suggestive [7]. A 2023 review described the benefits as unclear and pointed to small sample sizes [8].

For the nasal route we found no authoritative human data at all. HealthRX’s own product page says no human pharmacokinetic data exist for intranasal NAD+ [3].

Ingredient grade matters too. In October 2024, FDA warned that some compounders had used food-grade NAD+ in IV products, after reports of chills, shaking and vomiting consistent with endotoxin [9]. That warning was about IV products, but it is a fair question to ask about any compounded NAD+.

Ask before you order: how many milligrams each spray delivers, how many sprays a day the prescriber expects, and how long one bottle lasts. Those three numbers turn a monthly price into a cost per dose.
